Students from Choir Basics, Concert Choir, and the Music Makers will be performing next week as Christmas rapidly approaches. Scheduled for December 17, the choir will be performing a variety of festively themed songs. The concert is set to begin at 7 pm at the Cathyann Roding Auditorium at BHS.
Senior Shay Barrett, the section leader for the altos, and senior Jasmine Baklik, the president of the choir, said they are looking forward to the annual Christmas concert, which is set to begin at 7 pm at the Cathyann Roding Auditorium at BHS.
“We do a selection from a bunch of different holiday songs. We try and include a lot of different cultures,” said Shay. “Usually a couple hundred people come.”
Jasmine said she is also hoping there is a good turnout.
“The arts aren’t as recognized as a lot of the sports are so we’re hoping for as many people to come as possible,” said Jasmine. “It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit.”
The concert admission is free; all students, staff, and families are invited.
In mid January, a charity concert will be held. This concert, “Rockin’ for Raz”, will feature “Because” at BHS, a tribute band to the Beatles. The concert will benefit Special Education Teacher Michelle Raczewski who is battling cancer.
